A MIRACLE OF TIMING by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
Several years ago I found myself in the desert armed with only my camera during an intense monsoonal thunderstorm. As a double rainbow appeared I quickly set up my tripod and snapped a few pics using my camera's shutter burst. I didn't realize until I returned home and opened this image on my computer that I had captured a lightning strike within the double bow. Truly a miracle of timing. Ref. 9694

I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. This exposure served to influence my move from film to digital photography. The Apple QuickTake was my first digital camera. From there I moved to Olympus and finally settled on Canon. That's is one of the most beautiful and amazing photos I have ever seen in my life. I am speechless. L/F With all of the cactus and blossoms, I would also love to feature this in American Desert Southwest (Flora and Fauna). This is truly an award winning photo and I would say that this would be a clear first place finish by miles in any contest in the world it was entered in. WOW!!
