THE SMELL OF RAIN by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
This image is from my first experience with the monsoon season in Arizona's desert Southwest. The vibrant sky later gave way to bold lightning and a torrential downpour. There is a special smell and feel as the approaching moisture from a storm begins to permeate the thirsty land and the heat gives way to a refreshing, yet short-lived, cool breeze. Ref. 7920
