RED SKY AT NIGHT by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
This scene was shot toward the end of a stormy summer sunset over the Sierra Estrella Mountains southwest of Phoenix. The clouds were quite cooperative throughout the entire shoot and provided me a few nice compositions. Just as the evening light was coming to an end a gorgeous red ribbon sky appeared, providing just enough light to silhouette this lone saguaro cactus. Slight vignetting was added for effect.
Sitting here staring at this image while penning this commentary, I am tempted to abandon my keyboard, grab my gear and head out once again in search light and color. Ref. 0973

As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene.
