ARIZONA'S JR GRAND CANYON by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK

A Christmas Day adventure through the Salt River Canyon in eastern Arizona surprised us with a wonderful gift... white stuff in the desert! The dappling of light and shadow over the snow-covered plateaus provided a splendid palate for the mind's eye. The stark silence on Christmas morn entreated us enter into the stillness and just gaze... letting our senses recalibrate. Ref. 0118

I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. This exposure served to influence my move from film to digital photography. The Apple QuickTake was my first digital camera. From there I moved to Olympus and finally settled on Canon. Self-taught in both photography and digital processing, I count myself fortunate to have had access to Adobe Photoshop almost daily for 20+ years. I hope to always remain a student of the craft.
