CHOLLA CACTI IN THE SPRING by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
While the spring bloom in the Sonoran desert doesn't always produce a plethora of wildflowers, there are still pockets of beauty to behold. This Arizona scene provided a snapshot of both a fit and healthy saguaro cactus towering to the sky and a blooming cholla cactus. Trekking down a trail in the Superstition Mountains in the spring one will see some of the most hostile looking flora displaying their own unique version of a desert bouquet. Vibrant colors of reds, yellows, pinks and purples dapple the desert floor with artistic expression. Top it off with beautiful cloud-filled skies and you've go the makings of a gorgeous scene, pristine virgin desert at its best. Ref. 0137

Self-taught in both photography and digital processing, I count myself fortunate to have had access to Adobe Photoshop almost daily for 20+ years. I hope to always remain a student of the craft. Along the journey I've been fortunate to have had my work recognized by organizations such as...
