Perhaps my favorite scenic road in all of Arizona. Hewitt Canyon Road takes you some twelve miles through some of the most beautiful wilderness the Superstition Mountains has to offer. As you climb 4,832 feet to Rogers Trough Trailhead you are privy to pristine views of both cacti forests and rock formations that can be breathtaking. If you are brave enough, you can take the switchbacks from Rogers Trough down the backside of the Superstitions which lands you just outside the town of Superior. Ref. 5258
