THE FIRST MORNING by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
We were greeted with this gorgeous sunrise the first morning of our photo safari on the African savanna. Hippos and elephants on the Nile (to the right of this scene) seized the opportunity to greet the new day with calls to one another. It was a morning full of sights and sounds I'll never forget. About Rick Furmanek
I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. This exposure served to influence my move from film to digital photography. The Apple QuickTake was my first digital camera. From there I moved to Olympus and finally settled on Canon. Self-taught in both photography and digital processing, I count myself fortunate to have had access to Adobe Photoshop almost daily for 20+ years. I hope to always remain a student of the craft.
