THE PETER IREDALE SHIPWRECK by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK

The Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel barque sailing vessel that ran ashore on the Oregon coast October 25, 1906. Here is a snippet of the backstory.

Sailing from Salina Cruz, Mexico, on or about September 26, 1906, the Peter Iredale was bound for Portland, Oregon with 1,000 tons of ballast and a crew of 27, including two stowaways. About Rick Furmanek

Rick Furmanek

I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. Self-taught in both photography and digital processing, I count myself fortunate to have had access to Adobe Photoshop almost daily for 20+ years. I hope to always remain a student of the craft. Along the journey I've been fortunate to have had my work recognized by organizations such as...
