HEDGEHOG BLOOM by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK
Headed out to Peralta to experiment with my extension tubes on my macro lens. The Hedgehog Cacti were in full bloom and loaded with pollen seeking would-be transporters.
The only downside of the trip was while I scooted around on the ground being totally preoccupied with my composition, I was unaware I was collecting cactus spines on both legs and both glutes. I always carry a plastic comb for situations like this as it easily removes them. Ref. 2248

I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. This exposure served to influence my move from film to digital photography. The Apple QuickTake was my first digital camera. From there I moved to Olympus and finally settled on Canon.
