Our premium yoga mats are 24" wide x 72" tall x 0.25" thick and made from natural rubber with a blended microfiber top surface.   The top of the mat has the image printed on it, and the back is solid black with textured dimples for better floor grip.

OMINOUS by PHOTOGRAPHER RICK FURMANEK

Have you ever felt you were visiting another planet? The atmospheric conditions on this particular day back in July of 2011 become so volatile that it gave me some sense of what it might be like if I were on Mars. Even the rocks were difficult to discern as the shades of red and orange filled every nook and cranny of the Superstitions (Arizona) giving them an eerie feel that something big was about to happen.

I have battled off and on since 2011 whether to do anything with this scene or just leave it to the confines of my digital darkroom. I have visited it probably ten times or so over the years and was never fully satisfied, thus I would file it away. It is two images stitched together as the sky was just too big for a single frame. This week I've committed some of my down time from school determined once again to depict what I saw with my own eyes. It truly was otherworldly. This seems awfully close now. I've always had a passion for artistic expression with my camera. As an industry specialist in the mid-90's I served as the Operations Manager/Technical Trainer in the Apple Computer technical support division in Tempe, AZ, just when PowerMacs were hitting the scene. This exposure served to influence my move from film to digital photography. The Apple QuickTake was my first digital camera. From there I moved to Olympus and finally settled on Canon. Self-taught in both photography and digital processing, I count myself fortunate to have had access to Adobe Photoshop almost daily for 20+ years. I hope to always remain a student of the craft.
